SchoolJam 2019

SchoolJam, Germany`s biggest festival for young people, is entering its next year. School bands with members aged ten or older are invited to enter and, with a little luck, can look forward to playing in the grand finale at Musikmesse. Here you can find all information about the competition SchoolJam.

About the competition

Who can enter?

Groups with members aged ten or older, regardless of whether it they are part of a school project or independent, solo artists or band (max. 10 musicians). No matter whether rock, punk or hip-hop. Cover versions are also welcome. Important: there is no need for all the band members to be at the same school.

What are the prizes?

The winners of SchoolJam will play live at the Southside and Hurricane Festivals, as well as the Thomann Summer Festival. Additionally, satis & fy invite the winning band to take part in a coaching weekend at Studio 20/20 in Werne.

SchoolJam is a collaboration between MM-Musik-Media-Verlag publishing company, the German Music Council (Deutscher Musikrat), the ‘respect’ initiative of the ‘Aktion Mensch’ charity, VIVA and Musikmesse Frankfurt. The Federal Ministry for Family, Seniors, Women and Young People has also been an official sponsor of SchoolJam.

Every year, well-known stars take part in the finale with the school bands on the Musikmesse stage. The winning band can look forward to a concert trip to Music China in Shanghai.
