Rachmaninoff and friends live
In the course of the evening the audience will be able to hear original interpretations by Claude Debussy, George Gershwin, Sergei Rachmaninoff, Maurice Ravel, Ferruccio Busoni and Vladimir Horowitz, reproduced on a modern Welte-Mignon piano. They will play their own greatest hits: Claire de la Lune, La Valse or the famous Prelude in c-sharp minor. Since these are original Welte-Mignon recordings, which are now available again in to their full extent for the first time, we shall be bringing to life again the golden era of piano playing from the early twentieth century.

Since it was founded in 2008 the Hindemith Quartet has had one mission: to make the work of Paul Hindemith, the native of Frankfurt and musical pioneer after whom it is named, better known beyond the boundaries of the city. Like the man whose name they take, the members of the Hindemith Quartet work in leading positions in the Opera and Museum orchestras. At this chamber concert, along with Paul Hindemith, works by Engelbert Humperdinck and Richard Strauss will be on the programme.
