For three days, exhibitors from the Russian Federation and several other countries will be presenting acoustic and electronic musical instruments, as well as the latest products from the fields of lighting, sound & event technology, music hardware & software, music accessories & special furniture, sheet music, specialist literature and sound re-cording media under the motto 'Sounds like Business'.
Complete overview of the market
In a total of four exhibition halls, Musikmesse / Pro-Light+Sound St. Petersburg offers visitors a complete over-view of the market structured by product groups. On the final day (Friday), the fair will also be open to members of the public interested in music. As a special cultural highlight for visitors, the fair takes place in June, which is the time of the 'White Nights', a series of festivals and music events within the framework of this year's celebrations for the 300th anniversary of the founding of the city on the River Neva.
Growing market
According to the business press and the economic data published on Russia, the country is currently enjoying a phase of extremely stable economic development and the demand for musical instruments and sheet music is in-creasing significantly. In Russia's schools and academies alone, around 70 percent of musical instruments will have to be replaced in the medium term. The fair in St. Peters-burg gives participants a chance not only to gain a foothold in the market but also to extend their fields of business and to make new business contacts at the same time as boost-ing their brands and image.
Successful première
Musikmesse / ProLight+Sound St. Petersburg made its ex-tremely successful debut in the Northwest Russian com-mercial metropolis in June 2001 when the organisers wel-comed twice as many companies as originally planned. It is the most important forum for the music industry, the music trade and manufacturers of lighting, sound and event tech-nology in Russia, the other member countries of the CIS and the Baltic States.
