Events and Entertainment: chart breakers and insider tips ad infinitum

From 5 to 9 March 2003, visitors from all over the world will flock to the Frankfurt Musikmesse at the Frankfurt Trade Fair & Exhibitions Center, which will once again be transformed into a gigantic sea of sound with over 250 concerts, workshops and seminars.

Music Hall
The host of stars due to appear in the Music Hall (Festhalle) includes Kosho, guitarist for 'Söhne Mannheims' and 'Xavier Naidoo', the rock formation 4LYN from Hamburg, Carola Grey, a shooting star from the drumming scene, Andy Timmons former guitarist for Alice Cooper and KISS, and many more.

Agora Stage
Virtuoso artists including Daniel Messina (Barbara Dennerlein's drummer) and chart breaker Haddaway with his "Real Groove Band" will be performing on the Agora Stage in a marquee outside in the grounds of the exhibition center. The final rounds of the School Band Festival SchoolJam on Friday evening promise to be an exciting event and, those who never learnt to play an instrument, will get the opportunity to show what they can do at Saturday's AirBand Contest.

Acoustic Village
When it comes to international guitar legends, some major names will be represented on the stage of the Acoustic Village in Hall 3.1, including Mike Keneally (ZAPPA) and two solo guitar-pickers Chris Proctor and Steven King.

Musikmesse Forum
Alongside a host of interesting lecturers and writers, some tempting treats will be on offer at the Musikmesse Forum in Hall 3.1 including, on Saturday at 10.45 a.m., the star of children's song Rolf Zuckowski. A number of programme items, i.e. podium discussions and information sessions will take place as part of GEMA's 100th anniversary celebrations.

DJ & Computer Zone
For those who want to know what mixing, pitching and cutting are and what they sound like, the brand-new dedicated "DJ & Computer-Zone" in Hall 5.1 is the ideal place to experiment. Experts explain the electronic sound boxes in the "hands-on" area and at "DJ & Computer-Seminars".

musik4kids
On the weekend of 8 and 9 March, when the Musikmesse opens its doors to the public, the smallest of visitors (over 5 years of age) can keep themselves occupied at "music4kids", an area full of sound machines designed with the younger generation in mind. At 3 p.m. on Saturday, children's TV star Michael Schanze from "Kinderquatsch" (ARD/ZDF TV) will be joining the young musicians on a journey of discovery.

In addition, numerous artists including Scooter, Glashaus, Guano Apes and Die Happy have already announced their intention to attend a host of product presentations and autograph signings on individual exhibitor stands.
