MAPEX “Drummer of Tomorrow” – European Final 2008  The final of European’s greatest competition of best young drummer talents will take place during the Musikmesse in Frankfurt. On Saturday, March 15th, 2008, exactly at 2 pm, European’s best young drummer talents will enter the stage in room Europa/hall 4 and will demonstrate their abilities together with the “RTL-Allstar”-Band. There is not only one song that has to be performed by each drummer, moreover, each best young drummer talent has to show a solo performance. The international jury consists solely of top-class professional drummers (for example Chris Adler/Lamb of God, Will Calhoun/Living Colour and Walfredo Reyes Jr./Santana). People well-known in musical industry as well as people of European musical magazines will also attend the event. Host and moderator of “Drummer of Tomorrow” is none less than Dom Famularo; also well-known as “Global Ambassador of Drums”. Motivator Dom Famularo spends a lot of time travelling worldwide for Mapex concerning “Education” matters. His concepts relating to optimizing education and time-management attract world-wide attention, not only among drummers. The finalists of European greatest competition of young best drummer talents are from 5 different European countries. 10 exceptional talents from Germany, Spain, Italy, France and UK will compete in two categories (solists & groovers). The drummers at the age of 18 to 25 years did already win their national competitions that took place in last autumn. Now they will battle for the title of European’s best young drummer talent. The first prize is a scholarship at a reputable University of Music in the United States. For Germany Sebastian Berg from Dillingen and Thomas Heinz from Cologne are going to enter the contest and both eager to win the title.
