Yamaha proudly presents the first “Groove Allstars Europe” concert on March 13th 2008, during Musikmesse Frankfurt It began as a birthday party for Yamaha’s Drum Guru Takashi ”Snoop“ Hagiwara in the year 2000; now “Groove Allstars” has become established as the musical highlight of the NAMM Show in Los Angeles. Yamaha’s first “Groove Night” was an overriding success due to it’s unique concept: top Yamaha Drummers such as Steve Gadd, John “JR” Robinson, Dave Weckl and Rick Marotta each played one song together with a band of top musicians led by L.A studio bassist Neil Stubenhaus. The idea behind this event can be summed up in one phrase: Just Songs & Groove – no drum solos please ….! Presented by the fantastic Master of Ceremonies and legendary drummer, Rick Marotta, known for his great sense of humour, the Groove Allstars event attracts not only drummers but all kinds of music lovers due to the quality of the performances. At last, in 2008, “Groove Allstars Europe” comes to the Frankfurt Musikmesse! For this event, Yamaha Drums has come up with something special again. In addition to international drummers and the Allstars Band from overseas, Yamaha has invited the top European drummers and artists to join us in Frankfurt: Good Grooves – Made by Yamaha! Besides the “Groove Night” Founder & Drum Legend Rick Marotta, artists such as John “JR” Robinson, Wolfgang Haffner, Ralf Gustke, Erik Smith, Akira Jimbo and Andrew Small will take part in this special performance. The brilliant band, lead by Musical Director Neil Stubenhaus, will be joined by a top-class European Horns Section. Further band members are: David Spinozza (Guitar) , Robbie Wychoff , Mark Williamson and Tabitha Fair (Vocals), Jon Greathouse ( keyboards) as well as Ross Bolton (Guitars). In addition, several special guests will make appearances during the evening. You can look forward to a very special evening full of pure musical magic! The concert will take place on March 13th at 7:00 p.m in the “Festhalle Frankfurt” right next to the Yamaha booth Forum 0 and the area of Musikmesse 2008. |
