Awards and award ceremonies at Musikmesse

A variety of important awardswill be presented during the Musikmesse in Frankfurt am Main. Of particularsignificance for the musical-instrument industry is theGerman Music Instrument Prize, which honours German music-instrument makers intwo categories. Additionally, a number of awards are given for selectedproducts. The Musik-Media-Verlag publishing company presents the MusikmesseInternational Press Award (MIPA). The PPVMedien-Verlag publishing company givesthe PPVMedien Reader Awards, within the framework of which readers of the 'Tastenwelt','Soundcheck', 'Keys' and 'Tastenwelt' trade magazines vote for their favouriteproducts. 

A cultural highlight is theFrankfurt Music Prize, which is traditionally presented on the eve of the Musikmesse.The Federation of German Music Associations (Bundesvereinigung Deutscher Musikverbände e.V.) gives an award forvoluntary work in the music sector. The 'Best Edition' German Music EditionAward goes to editions of sheet music distinguished by high editorial andpublishing quality. A highlight for the young musicians is the final round ofthe SchoolJam, the major German competition for school-student bands, which isheld during the Musikmesse.

German Instrument Award 2012
